This is not a news-as-usual day for us.

 

The difference between today and the same day last year is not a lessening of the sense of loss or even fear. What has lessened is the almost unfathomable sense of helplessness. While my city – the world – will never be the same, it is challenging and rewarding to be part of an industry that is so important to healing both – and can help them grow greater. 

 

Today is a good day for reflection. I am going to work in the garden to see that nature goes on, and remind family and friends how much they mean to me.

 

And on the 12^th, we go back to work trying to make better places for people to work, live, play, and worship.
